Floorball

Since my friends are curious to what floorball is all about, this is a post where I share my passion for it.

I was introduced to floorball back in my studies in Tunku Abdul Rahman College. My best friend, Kelvin, actually dragged me to the field after lecture and made me play without proper attire. It was then, I know I that have fallen in love with it. Our floorball team plays every Wednesday and Thursday (schedule might have changed) after lecture without fail even on rainy days unless it's thundering.

dance
We are that crazy to play in rain

Our game usually ended with sweaty dinner at the mamak stall together.

Although I am not a pro player, now and back then, I have always enjoyed playing.

Floorball sticks

Floorball is somewhat similar to ice hockey, but without the ice. Floorball sticks are usually carbon sticks with plastic blade. And floorball ball, is a light plastic ball with holes that looks somehow like a rattan ball.

The game is very easy. All you have to do is to put the ball into your opponent's goal. Simple. Just like football, but here, instead of using your leg, you need to use your a stick to hit the ball into the goal.

If you guard the goal like this, I think your opponent will definitely score a goal

Sarawak Heritage

I attended a series of lectures few months back, organized by Sarawak Heritage Society and Pustaka Negeri Sarawak.

Being one of a member in Sarawak Heritage Society, I helped in researching and compiling all informations, as well as creating presentation slides.

Research done by Florence

A number of students from LimKokWing showed up for the talk on the first lecture but the number gradually decreases. A few lecturers from my college attended the talk as well.

It was a good opportunity to understand our heritage and how we can help to play our part in conserving it. The series ended with a heritage trail around Kuching and also site visits to the Square Tower and Old Court House.

It was one of the most interesting lectures and definitely not to be missed out the next time.

Ah Ben

Sacrificing my sleep today, I woke up at 9a.m. to help Ben with his assignments and studies. After countless attempts to wake him up, he finally picked me for lunch at almost 1p.m.

He wanted to eat pork leg rice so badly that, I suggested to lunch at one of the best pork leg rice around which is humbly located at Padungan. However, it ran out by the time we reached there (thanks to Ben for oversleeping) so ended up eating at Pizza Hut.

It has been a long time since I went out with him. I must say that I neglected him as a good friend and catching up was fun. Instead of helping him with his work after lunch, he went back home and fall asleep on the sofa, leaving me alone at his empty house. The whole afternoon was wasted because I couldn't wake him up.

dance
He slept like a baby while I studied for Building Structure on my own

He ended up copying my assignment instead. (I hope Mr. Alan does not read this)

Finger for you, for wasting your own time

Ballroom Dance

dance

I've always admire dancers, because I can't dance. And I'm too shy to dance.

Dance
He can dance...

Dance
Even she can dance...

Dance
T_T I can't do that...

Dance
But I can do this!

Okay, so I do suck at dancing.

Ever since I took up dance class at Imperial Dance Studio, an influence from my youngest sister, I have greatly enjoyed the lessons. At a reasonable fees of RM 50 per month, one hour per week, I was taught how to do Cha Cha. So now, I'm a dancer.

Everything was fine until the moment I have to dance with a partner. Now, wouldn't any girl would want to dance with some macho guy or at least someone charming? But unfortunately, not many young people are actually interested in ballroom dance and thus, my class is mostly ladies and... extincted men.

Usually I will opt to dance alone. But sometimes... a man older than my father will approach me and asked for a dance.

I swear, I need to get a dance partner soon. My age. Anyone?

Pros: You get to dance with me, the leng loi...
Cons: What cons do you have when you get to hold a girl every week for an hour?!
